Also, it seems some groups are just kiting all the Sarumans, from Phase 1 onward, in phase 5 they have a burg specifically dedicated to interrupting the 2'nd saruman.

Resistance's strat:
1) Ball everyone up at the edge of the room.
2) Mez the two lightning adds when the clones spawn in Phase 5.
3) Use the Threat/Morale shield bubble on the tank.
4) Tank grabs aggro on all the Sauromans along with the bubble. After 10 seconds, start kiting.
5) Everyone else in the raid uses all ring skills and oathies, to arms, etc to kill the two Shadow Sauromans quickly.
6) LM lay down Sticky Tar, Burglars use Dust in the Eyes AoE on all Sauroman's being kited
7) Pick off the rest of em' one by one while the tank keeps kiting.

ToO - Saruman – Tier 1 (RING ICONS DID NOT POST)

There are a number of ways to do this fight but from my experience, I think the below would be easiest.

After completing the first four wings of Tower of Orthanc, go up the stairs to the left of the Shadow Wing boss and you will be ported to the top of the tower and see Saruman in the middle of the tower. This is the location for the Saruman battle below.

Group Make-up:

§ (2) Tanks (Guards preferred – Warden maybe)

§ (3) Healers – 2 fulltime healer and an RK traited heal but can add dps for first 4 phases (heal part of 5th phase )(If 2 healers for whole thing, have another burg for CJs)

§ (1) Lore Master

§ (1) Burg

§ (2) Champs

§ (2) Captains

§ DPS: Hunter, RK, Burg – good single target dps

Fellowship Maneuvers (CJs):

Easy for Power and Heals - CJs – GGGBBB (Pure of Heart)

Boss Make-up:

§ Center Saruman

§ Shadow Saruman (2 in Phase 5)

§ Acid (Venom) Saruman (2 in Phase 5)

§ Frost Saruman (2 in Phase 5)

§ Lightning (Storm) Saruman (2 in Phase 5)

§ Fire Saruman (2 in Phase 5)

Rings:

§ Shadow Ring (Holder: Burg; Buff: DPS Tank when group needs heal; Debuff: Shadow (remind people it is on and not to remove corruptions))
Left Icon Phase Transition
Center Icon
Right Icon

§ Acid Ring (Holder: Captain; Apply buff: Main Tank or Tanking Captain in Phase 5; Debuff: Shadow )
Left Icon Phase Transition

Right Icon

§ Frost Ring (Holder: Lore Master; Buff: Main Tank; Debuff: Whichever boss needs to be re-mezzed)
Left Icon Phase Transition
Center Icon
Right Icon

§ Lightning Ring (Holder: RK; Buff: Hunter; Debuff: Shadow when below 100k)

§ Fire Ring (Holder: Champ 1; Buff: Champ 2; Debuff: Shadow at ¾ health)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

PHASE I - Starts when the last ring is picked up

Doppelganger Sarumans: 1 of each type (5 total)

Center Saruman: Inactive

Other Effects: None

Attack Order: Shadow, Acid, Fire, Lightning, Frost

1. LM (have frost ring) – mezz and re-mezz Frost for 1 min.

2. Burg – mezz acid for 30s

3. Frost Ring buff to MT, Acid Ring buff to MT

4. Main Tank grabs aggro of Fire and Lighting and be near frost for AE aggro so when he wakes he comes to you.

5. DPS Tank and DPS Group – Kill Shadow asap. Use any damage rings to kill him fast.

6. After Shadow is killed, move to next target and so on.

-------------------------------------------------Use Rings------------------------------------------------------------------------

PHASE 2

Doppelganger Sarumans: 1 of each type (5 total)

Center Saruman: Semi-Active

Casts environmental effects which buff the Saruman that matches and debuffs those that don’t. Tier 1, it really may only effect the order of kills after Acid.

Other Effects:

§ Acid Saruman will place a dot bubble around someone. Healers must full heal that person to remove it.

§ Lightning Saruman has a polarity effect which creates distributed lightning damage from his body

Attack Order: Shadow, Acid, Lightning, Fire, Frost

Step-by-Step:

1. LM (have frost ring) – mezz and re-mezz Acid for 1 min. Or until DPS Group is ready to fight him

2. Burg – mezz Frost for 30s

3. Frost Ring buff to MT, Acid Ring buff to MT

4. Main Tank grabs aggro of Fire and Lighting and be near frost for AE aggro so when he wakes he comes to you.

5. DPS Tank and DPS Group – Kill Shadow asap. Use any damage rings to kill him fast.

6. After Shadow is killed, move to next target and so on.

-------------------------------------------------Use Rings------------------------------------------------------------------------

PHASE 3

Doppelganger Sarumans: 1 of each type (5 total)

Center Saruman: Active

Calls out peoples’ names and will cast various spells ranging from clouds to aoe ice. Make sure LM puts Frost Lore on him for fight. Good time for someone (maybe Main Tank) to identify the person called out for the Shadow Cloud and let DPS group know when to move.

Other Effects:

§ Frost Saruman places debuffs (poison, fear, disease and wound) on random players. Make sure everyone has lvl 80 PoTs and call out names for them to remove if you see an icon with a little clock in the corner on them. Very Important or in 8 secs it will create and AoE effect that hurts the group.

§ Lightning Saruman has a polarity effect which creates distributed lightning damage from his body

§ Shadow Clouds, Poison Clouds, Green Puddles – Ignore Poison Cloud (just heal through it unless easy to move but not worth giving up dps on mob). Determine a direction (clockwise or counterclockwise) that DPS group is to move when they get a Shadow Cloud (helps keep as much dps on boss if people all move the same direction at the same time) (aggro holder of boss in cloud should move far enough away so that boss tethers and moves out of the cloud asap). Puddles heal the boss, so move him out of them.

Attack Order: Shadow, Frost, Acid, Lightning, Fire

Step-by-Step:

1. LM (have frost ring) – mezz and re-mezz Frost for 1 min. Or until DPS Group is ready to fight him

2. Burg – mezz Acid for 30s

3. Frost Ring buff to MT, Acid Ring buff to MT

4. Main Tank grabs aggro of Fire and Lighting. Grab Acid when he wakes as well.

5. DPS Tank and DPS Group – Kill Shadow asap. Use any damage rings to kill him fast.

6. After Shadow is killed, move to next target and so on.

-------------------------------------------------Use Rings------------------------------------------------------------------------

PHASE 4

Doppelganger Sarumans: 1 of each type (5 total)

Center Saruman: Active

Calls out peoples’ names and will cast various spells ranging from clouds to aoe ice. Make sure LM puts Frost Lore on him for fight. Good time for someone (maybe Main Tank) to identify the person called out for the Shadow Cloud and let DPS group know when to move.

Other Effects:

Attack Order: Shadow, Acid, Lightning, Fire, Frost

Step-by-Step:

1. LM (have frost ring) – mezz and re-mezz Frost for 1 min. Or until DPS Group is ready to fight him

2. Burg – mezz Acid for 30s

3. Frost Ring buff to MT, Acid Ring buff to MT

4. Main Tank grabs aggro of Fire and Lighting. Grab Acid when he wakes as well.

5. DPS Tank and DPS Group – Kill Shadow asap. Use any damage rings to kill him fast.

6. After Shadow is killed, move to next target and so on.

-------------------------------------------------Use Rings------------------------------------------------------------------------

PHASE 5

Doppelganger Sarumans: 2 of each type (10 total)

Center Saruman: Active

Calls out peoples’ names and will cast various spells ranging from clouds to aoe ice. Make sure LM puts Frost Lore on him for fight. Good time for someone (maybe Main Tank) to identify the person called out for the Shadow Cloud and let DPS group know when to move.

Other Effects:

§ Lightning Sarumans no longer does polarity but casts eyes on people he sees and after 3 secs they get booted (sometimes off the tower). Keep the two Lightning Sarumans on one tank with the tanks back up against a door and the back of the Sarumans to the group. Eye is only put on to people that are seen, so if group is behind them, then they do not get the eye. If you do get the eye as dps, move to the center saruman quickly.

Attack Order: Shadow, Lightning, Acid, Fire, Frost

Step-by-Step:

1. Frost Ring buff to MT, Acid Ring buff to MT

2. DPS Tank grabs aggro of Fires and Acids – Kite Them around to reduce healing need

3. Main Tank grabs aggro of Frosts and Lightning. Go stand in front of door near Frost location. Keep Lightning’s back to group and your back to the door. If you get booted, run back and set back up the same place. If purple cloud, then move to open Shadow or Fire Door

4. DPS Group – Kill Shadow asap. Use any damage rings to kill him fast.

a. Assign a champ to each Shadow and have them interrupt the healing (green circle below). Any dps with interrupt should hit is at that time.

b. Cappy or Champs keep aggro.

5. RK and Captains – Heal for DPS group in this phase until Shadows are killed.

6. After Shadow is killed, move to next target and so on.

7. Once all are dead, ring bearers should go use rings again. (if it doesn’t activate, this means the center saruman needs to be damaged some to trigger it)

8. Once rings are used, run and stand in front of a door.

9. Get knocked back and ported to the location to loot.
